Decided to get my lazy (and warm) self out into the fresh (and cold) air and got out to Liberty State Park this afternoon. It’s a beautiful location, just across the Hudson from lower Manhattan, with the Statue of Liberty on one side, Ellis Island as well.
The problem is that I got too many shots — it’s hard to pick just one for today!
First, I got to see some interesting birds, like a red-breasted merganser:
Then I got a decent shot of Miss Liberty as if from a rear view mirror:
There were some gulls hanging around the parking lot nearest to the Statue of Liberty:
Then I headed over to the area just across from Lower Manhattan where, always and forever, there is something missing from the skyline:
While I was there, I saw a bunch of folks doing something I sure would like to do, especially as cold as it was out there today — they were leaving winter behind:
Sigh… now what do I do for an encore tomorrow???
