Monday, June 8th, 2009“We are Virginia Tech,” the plaque reads. “We will prevail.”
Thirty-two stones stand in a semi-circle on the drill field on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. They are called Hokie stones, and each one stands for a life senselessly cut short in a shooting rampage on the campus on April 16, 2007.

2. Nicole Regina White anchors one side
3. Brian Roy Bluhm anchors the other side
4. Birthdays are still remembered…

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009HAD to get out and do something different tonight. Love the birds, but I want to learn other things. So I headed over to Sacred Heart Cathedral as the sun was setting and tried some different images.
First, a nine-shot HDR:
Then a single shot of the Cathedral with some darker post-processing:
I like ’em both, and am not sure how I’d choose between ’em! So I made it even harder on myself by processing another different HDR image:

Monday, June 1st, 2009The blue jay sat and watched me this morning from the branches of a tree not far from the bird feeders. He won’t sit still any closer… at least not yet.
